The Dublin you visit today is very much shaped by what happened on our streets here 100 years ago. The dramatic events of Easter week 1916 saw armed rebel forces of citizens & volunteers occupy key buildings & locations in an insurrection against British rule. The bloodshed & conflict of that week left Dublin in ruins but began shaping a path towards an independent Irish Republic and triggered the demise of the Empire. Join us on this fascinating free tour around pivotal sights of the rebellion, learn how the rising unfolded, run your fingers across the scars left in facades by bullets 100 years ago and get a remarkable insight to the Ireland & Dublin of 1916, and the capital you see today.

The Central bank is located on Dame Street, one of the main streets in Dublin, so if you are staying in the city centre the best way to get here is by foot. Please note that we are NOT located at the Bank of Ireland close to Trinity College. The Central Bank is 1-2 mins walk from Trinity College, The Ha'penny Bridge & Dublin Castle in the very centre of the City. See the map above for it's location.
Dubliners are very friendly people so they'll be glad to give you directions. The Square at the Central Bank is a relatively spacious public area and once you are there you will see our guides in blue HostelCulture T-shirts and holding blue HostelCulture Free Tour umbrellas.
Please note that tour requires a minimum number of people to run.
